Each of Curry's pieces is wheel-thrown in his North Carolina studio, then wood-fired in a traditional kiln. The wood-firing process infuses the pottery with rich, natural tones and unique textures, as the flames and ash interact with the clay surface. This hands-on, labor-intensive firing method adds character to every piece, giving each one a distinct finish that can't be replicated with modern gas or electric kilns.
