On Thursday, September 18, I'll be opening the doors to the gallery for a long-overdue celebration, and I hope you'll join me.
Last year was supposed to mark my 30th year at the wheel, three decades of working in clay. But Hurricane Helene had other plans. Like many in our community, I found myself setting aside celebrations to focus on helping others get back on their feet. Now, with some breathing room and a lot of gratitude, I'm ready to celebrate not just the milestone, but the whole journey.
So this September, we're calling it "30+1" ... a party that looks back with appreciation and forward with excitement. The celebration will be part of Downtown Morganton's Third Thursday Art Crawl and will happen right here at the gallery, a space that's been my creative home for 12 years now. That's twelve years of making pots, running a gallery, and supporting the work of fellow artists I deeply admire.
Over these 30+1 years, clay has been my constant companion. It's challenged me, grounded me, and given me endless opportunities to experiment, learn, and connect with others. The gallery has extended that conversation, allowing me to share not only my own work but also to build a space that champions the vibrant voices of regional artists.
Whether you're a longtime supporter or new to the gallery, I'd love for you to be part of this evening. We'll have new pots from my studio, fresh work from gallery artists, and plenty of good energy to go around.
Join the fun!
