Over the summer, I took some time away from throwing pots to work on some gallery projects and to let my elbows, wrists, and hands rest a bit. The fact that my studio is not air-conditioned and becomes obscenely hot in the middle of summer certainly had nothing to do with it... 🥵😏.
I resumed throwing last week and realized that I'd missed the calming sensation of simply and quietly making repetitive forms, in this case some petite berry bowls and catch plates. As the gallery has grown, I find I have fewer moments to immerse myself in the studio and work creatively. Now that the weather is beginning to cool, you might find me spending a few evenings over in the studio happily fiddling with clay.
In the meantime, allow yourself a couple of minutes to watch the wheel in action!
