Handmade  Leaf Platters

Collect some of your favorite leaves for this workshop! In the Handmade Leaf Platter workshop, we walk you through the construction of a simple platter using a prepared slab. Then using leaves you've collected and brought along to the workshop, we'll show you how to press the leaves into the surface of your platter to transfer the leaf texture to the clay. Before removing the leaf from the clay, you can go ahead and brush the glaze onto your platter to enhance the outline of your leaf design. Once the glaze is set, the leaf (or leaves) is removed leaving both a distinct pattern and color difference! It's very easy and produces a very cool effect! This is one you don't want to miss!

Enjoy creativity and comradery as our resident potter, Hamilton Williams, shows you how to create your own one-of-a-kind work. Workshops are oriented  toward beginners so that in 2 hours or less participants can complete a project they can be proud of. Workshop projects are designed to teach participants essential clay techniques so that they can take on more challenging workshops in the future. All tools and materials, and some light refreshments, are provided.

Completed projects are left at the end of workshops so that they can be glazed and fired. Participants can select from one of several glaze colors.

Cost: $35 (payment required to reserve space)

*We can schedule additional workshop dates for parties of 6 or more. Deadline to sign up for a scheduled workshop is 6pm on the day prior to a workshop. Workshops with less than 5 paid sign-ups at that time will have to be rescheduled.

During workshops, Hamilton Williams Gallery often takes photographs and video of workshop participants, works-in-progress, and finished workshop pieces for the purposes of marketing future workshops and Hamilton Williams Gallery. By participating in a Hamilton Williams Gallery workshop, participants provide permission to Hamilton Williams Gallery to record and use photos and videos. Participants that wish to opt out of this provision should let us know when registering for the workshop.
